SOLDER RECYCLING

Our “State of the Art” pollution abatement controls represent the most significant part of our recycling operation.  We provide our customers with the best and most environmentally safe solder recycling service in the industry.

This process involves the environmentally safe recycling of tin and tin/lead bearing material containing flux chemistry from soldering processes such as wave, dip and tinning operations.  The lead bearing particles and acidic flux chemistries must be strictly controlled during the reclamation process to eliminate possible discharge to the atmosphere.

Choosing the Most Environmentally Safe Solder Recycling Service

Please review the document “Choosing the Most Environmentally Safe Solder Recycling Service” to better understand the environmental information a generator requires to make an informed decision regarding their recycler.

We encourage you to request a copy of the Electrum Environmental Booklet.  It contains important information for the generator, specifically:

  • Electrum emission test information

  • Environmental References

  • Solder Recycling Flow Chart

  • Form R information and guidelines

  • Federal EPA regulatory letters for solder dross and solder metal

  • Generator environmental questionnaire

The commercial aspect of our environmentally safe solder recycling process is to produce refined tin/lead metal for re-use into solder products, thus reducing use of natural resources.

 ISO 14001

We provide assistance to the generator identifying new items to recycle, which in many cases results in an improved and more comprehensive recycling program.  Our years of recycling experience and environmental compliance know how are a tremendous asset to the generator seeking to secure an ISO 14001 certification.

PRECIOUS METAL RECYCLING

Our New Jersey DEP permitted stripping operation provides Electrum with the capability to chemically remove precious metal from plated surfaces.  This process was tested for fugitive emissions and certified to be within DEP specifications.

Over 30 years of experience in the precious metal recycling business have enabled our management to gain invaluable knowledge on how to utilize the most efficient processing method for different precious metal materials.  We process material requiring pulverization, ball milling, melting and incineration.

We are experienced in environmental compliance and its relationship to recycling complex types of precious metal bearing material in an environmentally safe manner.
